Request to Speak — Rutherford County Board of Education

⏰ Before you submit — three things

Deadline: the Board must receive this by noon (12:00 p.m.) the day of the meeting. Email early.
Bring to the meeting: photo ID and proof of Rutherford County residency (or RCS employment) — utility bill, lease, mortgage/bank statement, vehicle or voter registration, or federal tax return. The form alone does not satisfy this.
You get 3 minutes. Speakers are called in the order forms are received; 30 minutes total per meeting.

The Board's full guidance (effective 12/1/2024)

Make your desire to speak known to the Chairman before the business session by completing this form and returning it via email to williamsdaw@rcschools.net or in person at 2240 Southpark Drive, Murfreesboro, TN 37128, no later than noon the day of the meeting.

Per Board Policy 1.404, all speakers must provide proof of Rutherford County residency or RCS employment along with photo ID. No obscene/vulgar statements or conduct, and no statements intended to incite violence or breach the peace. Refusing to yield the podium when time expires may result in removal.

Per Board Policy 5.101, complaints against personnel are heard only after going through the proper procedures from their point of origin (complaint form to the immediate supervisor; for a principal, to the Director of Schools). The Board and Director are not required to respond to comments. All meetings are video recorded.
